Hi I'm Rob, Husband to MrsW and Father to 3 children (Big W, Thin Controller and small W). I started this blog after running the London Marathon in 2005 and mainly talked about my attempts at running. In November 2005 I was diagnosed with depression and spent 2 months off work. To say this was a shock to me is an understatement.
Did the ecological thing today and cycled into work. I used to cover 3,000 miles a year on my bike as I always cycled to work because there was no other option, but then we got a 2nd car which just made me lazy.
First day back and what a day, short list of things that happened
oh and when my computer finally started working I had 2047 unread e-mails.
On the plus side I was able to smile my way through the day. Even had time for an appointment with the company Doc. He's told me no more than 5 hrs a day until the end of May. After an opening day like to day I'm quite pleased he said that!!!
Good news - My Doc passed me fit to return to work tomorrow {RobW starts turning cartwheels in excitement)
Yes - Survived the Easter Holidays, back to normality or what passes for normality at the moment however it was a bit odd having the house that quiet again. Forced myself out the door for a morning run. Really tough starting showing how out of shape I am but I struggled on and ending up down 5 miles cross country in 45 minutes its a start.
Finally managed a run on Tuesday, slow but completed without any problems, not done anymore as with it being Easter holidays the family routine is all up the spout. When the kids go back next week it will earlier rises all round and easier to get going.
2nd Major fitness test passed, my own GP.
Great time up in Oxford. Met up with the academic that showed us a route that our coin must have come along. It went something like this
1 important fitness test passed today - The Company Doctor.
Picked up from my low last week. Had a Doc's appointment on Wednesday were I explained that I had been getting some good nights sleep but they seem to have stopped and I was feeling a little low. Doc though that it was the sedative of the Citalapram being negated by the body becoming accustomed to it. The underlying symptoms of Depression weren't responding.
