Hi I'm Rob, Husband to MrsW and Father to 3 children (Big W, Thin Controller and small W). I started this blog after running the London Marathon in 2005 and mainly talked about my attempts at running. In November 2005 I was diagnosed with depression and spent 2 months off work. To say this was a shock to me is an understatement.

The return

I'm back!!!

Hoiday was excellent. Campsite was wonderful, if anyone is looking for a quiet family campsite in North Cornwall then I can recommend Sun Haven Valley just up the coast from Newquay. Spent the first couple of days on the beach bodyboarding with BigW, who is now nicknamed "The Seal" as we bought him a wet suit while we were there. Visited lots of National Trust and English Heritage Sites ( We're family members and there excellent when its not quite beach weather) There was Goonhilly - Interesting place for tech heads like me. It seems that 3 of the dishes at Goonhilly carry that wonderful piece of Television called the Eurovision Song contest. I'll have a word for Giovanni to ensure the go non-operational the next time.

And I musn't forget the Eden Project now that is some place. We took out the passport option when we visited and spent the extra £3 for MrsW and I (BigW and MiddleW are Blue peter badge winners and get in free) and get free entry for a year. Made use of it as well, ended up going 3 times. Even took the boys to see some Stock Car and banger racing. They absolutely loved that - MrsW and I didn't when we discovered someone had nicked all 4 hubcaps from the Car!

{Rob hears pixies drumming fingers and decides to answer her question}

Didn't run at all on Holiday - can't remember when the last time I did run was. PF is getting better but went a bit when I was doing some light sprint work with BigW's Rugby team. Gentle reminder that I shouldn't be running yet. My feet are a lot better when I'm wearing footwear with a shaped footbed so this points to the need for orthos. I should be getting a Gait Scan on Friday for some custom orthos from The Orthotics Group.

{Door Creaks open and Giovanni enters}

Oh Hello Giovanni - good holiday?

Siberia, strange place

Oh - The annual ice bath makers convention

Ironman? Oh no not for me You know I'm a very slow swimmer and the optician has recommended I don't swim with contact lenses.

Biathlon? now that would be a possibility.

Getting out of season oh well - never mind perhaps next year

You'll look one up? Excellent

{Giovanni leaves the room}

Oh Pix I'll have to be a non-starter for both the NF Half and Abingdon. Missed too much training.

and a good holiday too - sounds like our kind of holiday too - except the body boarding - we didn't get much in the way of waves at St Ives

ROB!!!!
Mwah!!
now just remember the main thing is to get fit and healthy and enjoy the running - don't go running races when you shouldn't. I wouldn't do that! (hides entry about 10m PB with stress fracture)
